I rock Kumho ASX for the daily duty on my S. Works out pretty well. Got RE-01Rs for auto-x.
Tire rack was having a sale on Hancook R-S2s. For the sale money they would be very hard to pass up.

falken 452's for the win! good combination of all season grip and treadware... now if it were with spirited driving, i woulda said hankook v12 evo's... rated 2nd in car & driver magazine...

i had the same question since i have one set of rims that has Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym's and wanted to get a second set that could go on my OEM rims and be milage masters. (the F1 fronts still look fresh while the rears are halfway to the wear bars in about 6,000 miles with only 1 autox)
Since i get a discount on Goodyear tires, does anyone have feedback on Goodyear GT all seasons?

My buddy has the Goodyear GT's on his 3 series, it's a good all season tire. Don't expect anything crazy when it comes to grip or snow but a happy medium of decent performance and decent life. Not the cheapest tire out there either.

the oem re050's for me wore really well. i got about 16k out of them with a little life left and i did some spirited driving as well. i have sumitomo hrtz IIIs now with about 7k on them and they look like brand new. id say 80-90% left. i drive mainly highway with some spirited driving on inside roads.

its not just the rubber. You have to consider the alignment as well. The oem alignment is setup for performance, not for tire life. So maybe you should look into a new alignment which eliminates toe and pulls out a little camber in order to lengthen tire life.
Of course hard tires, and an alignment like this will greatly change the handling of the car. But thats the price you'll have to pay for tire life
