Default best all around tires especially for rain and longevity

Live in louisiana. rains more days than not. no snow no ice. would like a tire that is great in the rain and will last longer than the oem s02. IS the aquatread II available for the S2000?
I don't need a tire for racing or autocross as I rarely drive hard and never past 100+
thanks

If you are looking for a budget tire with good wet you can also look at the Kumho 712. The best all around in the wet is the S03.

If I can help let me know.
Thank you

The Bridgestone RE730s are awesome in the rain, last longer than S02s and are pretty damn grippy.

I've also heard good things about the 730 RE's. My question stems from reading other threads in this forum. I understand that, when pruchasing new rear replacement tires for the stock rear rims, we should get 245/45/16's not the original 225/50/16's due to the fact that the original tires were actually wider than their stamped size indicated.

Does this apply to the Bridgestone 730 RE's as well? Has anyone done this and what size did you get? My wish is to have about the same "stance" in the back as I did when the car was new.

Thanks,
Pat

I have been running stock S02 fronts and RE730 Gen 1 245/45-16 rears for almost a year now. Fits nicely, and have no problems so far. Obviously, there is a higher tendency to oversteer with this setup so becareful. From my experience, the RE730 lose grip pretty very quickly when it get too hot, which happens quite easily when one is heavy on the throttle. I heard new generation RE730s are better now. Hope this helps.

Have heard good things re: s03's with our type of weather.
However, prior to getting rid of MY01, checked at the Metairie
Firestone dealer on rear replacements & he suggested the
RE730's as all-around tire.

Even if they make an S2k size(which I believe not) suggestion is to stay away from the aqua tread. I have them on the wifes Avalon and they are VERY noisy and don't do any better in the wet than some of the above tires.

I just put a set of Michelin Pilot Sports A/S tires on mine for snow, shine and wet. I might suggest the Pilot Sport (you don't need the A/S) as well as some of the above tires. I love my A/S's in the snow.

The Tire Rack web site has an impressive amount of data and ratings on just about any tire. Consumer reports is also good but they do not do much other than run of the mill tires.
