Default bad idea?

I want to try to fit excel ennio wheels on my S. They come with a 45mm offset. Acording to the fitment guide a 45 will fit on the rear, but the front needs to be 48. Can I use a 3mm spacer to fix this. I was advised by someone from the tire rack that spacers are dangerous and will cause excesive wear on suspension parts, is this true? Will this setup work?

3mm spacers would make the offset more aggressive, +42 not +48. The wheels will work fine with either negative camber or rolling the fenders.

prowler... you need to give us the width of the wheel and even the size and brand of the tire to help you out...
