Default Apparently my Star Specs are immune to wear

I read others' posts on Star Specs and how they wear quickly being that they are a softer tire. I tend to see most everyone saying they don't get more than 15-20k / 2 seasons out of their rears.

I bought mine at ~62k miles and I'm now at 90k. Around 3-4k was on winter tires so that puts me at about 24-25k on the Star Specs. Almost three full summers and enough tread depth for at least one more full summer. I haven't tracked the tires but neither do many of the people posting with much shorter tread life. I certainly don't drive the car like a grandma either. Just wondering if anyone else is getting >25k miles out of their rear Star Specs because I find it hard to believe I am the only one or that everyone else is doing John Force burnouts and Brian O'Conner powerslides around every corner they take.

Wow that is crazy! Mine lasted from 90k-99k. I had them for about 10k miles, give or take a few hundred. They were filled with 3-4 track days, 5-6 autocrosses, daily driving 60+ miles a day, and as well as the spirited romp through some twisty backroads. Definitely a great set of tires, I just wish they hadn't bumped the price up so high!

A lot does depend on alignment and air pressure. How you drive also comes into play. If you do not overdrive the tires they will last longer even with track days.

Wow, that's really good longevity. I've only been able to make a set of four non-staggered ones last 12k miles with a decent rotation schedule.

my star specs last 5600 miles on a non-aggressive toe alignment (camber a tad on the aggressive side but not bad).

Are you sure your speedo is reading Miles not KM?

I've been told that 1/8 toe in the rear is pretty important to a car like ours. food for thought
