AP2V1 wheels
Hey guys, just wanted to drop by and make sure this is doable for my car.
I went ahead and located a source for 4 17x8.5 ap2v1 wheels and was wondering if they would all fit on my 2002 AP1.
My single largest concern is the front - will I have problems mounting this size wheel? Some people have been telling me yes, and others from this forum have told me I won't.
I want to run a 255/40/17 tire on all four corners, so Ill have some pretty thick rubber on the wheels as well. Will I be needing to roll the front fenders or possibly even the rears?
I really want to know so that I don't have any rubbing issues. Since someone on here has probably done this in the past it would be helpful if you can shed some light on this issue for me.
I was told this was a good alternative to buying Volks with +63 offset all around to fit the same size tire so I went searching for some.
Thanks a ton and I do appreciate all the help I get here

you will want to roll the fenders all around anyway to be safe, but IIRC you will definitely need to roll the fronts. you might also get some rubbing on the fender liner when the wheel is turned to full lock or close to lock.

Ok thanks!
Is there anything in specific I need to know about rolling fenders?
My current assumption was that this is something you don't want to have to do to the car. Is this true? Anyone care to shed more light on fender rolling?

255 on the front will need rolling you will rub for sure! Why do you not want to run staggereds on the car? I would suggest a 235/45 front and your 255/40 rear. I cant imagine the oversteer you will encounter running a 255 on the front.

Definately stagger!
You won't have to roll the rears

Well you can't run the OEM rear wheels on the front as the hub bore is too small. Rear wheel hub bore is 64mm, front hubs are 70mm, they won't fit over the hubs...

a machine shop fixes that problem in about 15 seconds. I took a set of wheels into a local shop to have the centers bored out to fit an old VW once and they did it so quickly they didn't even charge me for it
