AP2 - Tires, go wider? Consensus?
Is the consensus to go wider than stock size 215 to 225 front and 245 to 255 Rear? I am going to be purchasing tires very soon to mount on stock AP2 v1 rims, is there a performance difference good or bad?
Jim @ Tire Rack, could you also chime in here?
Thanks

I say 215 255. (I am sure you know CR runs that)
225 and Idea of it feeling less responsive is MEH. Unless comfort is more important, Wider tire yields better ride from what I understand.
However wider tire in the back should never hurt unless you are driving in the snow or scared of hydroplaning more often.
If the down pore is bad just bump your tire pressure up 6-8 Cold PSI and you should be more safe in heavy rain. That is if it's really bad, then go back to 32psi or w/e you run it at once dry.

In my personal experience, 215/255 will cause the car to push some on corner exits. 225/255 seems alot more balanced to me, and provides enough extra grip over stock sizes that I believe it's worth it.

For what reason are you going wider?

Didn't say I was going wider, I am trying to get a consensus from S2000 owners to try and determine if there is any benefit or a downside to going wider.
i run way wider rear tire 225F/275R and like it. i have never had the car understeer or push on me, but i dont track the car, just aggressive street driving/dragon raping

For the street I'd probably go 215/255, or 215/245. The benefits of greater width are not going to be all that obvious on the street, or even at the track if you don't have a stopwatch. Handling balance difference isn't going to be all that great with ~10mm changes in tire width stagger either (particularly on the street).
For street usage, I'd prefer the narrower and slightly shorter (slightly lighter-weight, too) stock front size, but for the rears I might go with 255s (as much for aesthetics as anything).
