Default AP2 RIMS w/ weird tires on them... pls advice

Hey
I am looking to get a set of AP2 RIMS off someone. I've confirmed it's AP2 17" S2000 RIMS by his description.

He told me the tires are

REAR: Federal super 59s 235/45/17
FRONT: bf goodrich sport 225/45/17

I know they are not original spec, but does this make sense??
I can't find any info on Google for the Federal Super 59s.

Please comment.

mismatched tires? you might as well just buy new tires for the rear to match those BF goodrich sports. you'd want 255/40/17s to get the proper stagger.

Getting new tires are no problem.
I am just concern if I can use the FRONT tires right now.

Since original spec is 215/45-17 for FRONT and 225/45-17 is what he have right now.

I'm sure you can use the fronts right now. I wouldn't imagine they are just going to blow up or fall off. You should be fine for awhile, all the same I would get new tires as soon as possible.

Rears are probably Federal 595. A 225/45 is fine for the front, if they still have good tread then get a matching 255/40 for the rear.

Is the consensus to go wider than stock size 215<225 front and 245<255 Rear. I am going to be purchasing tires also to mount on stock AP2 v1 rims.

Not trying to hijack thread, but this question fits in with what OP is trying to determine this as well.
