^^That. They will fit but the AP2 was designed for 17" wheels. The suspension geometry won't work as well with 16" wheels. However, the AP1 can definitely take the 17" AP2 wheels without major issue!

Suspension geometry is practically identical, only difference is that AP2 has less rear toe change with bump, which is a good thing, but the benefit exists with 16" or 17".
Wheel offsets are the same, tire diameters are the same, no geometry differences, just slightly narrower tires with taller sidewalls.
You can run AP1 wheels and tire sizes on an AP2 with no problems. You might lose a *smidge* of ultimate dry grip, but on the street, real world, no major difference.
Plenty of AP1 owners will gladly trade with you!

What you will get is better ride quality and less expensive tires. The wheels and tires are also less likely to get damaged from pot holes.
