Default AP1 tyres

Bridgestone's all round at the moment and the rears only have about 3mm left so I've done some research into what to replace them with.

As you all know Bridgestone S02 where designed for the car originally but know these tyres are a Porsche fitment and are only rated c in the wet as I live in the UK I need good all weather grip.

I emailed Bridgestone asking for the best possible tyre for the car after 2 weeks my response was Firestone sz90. these are rated A wet,F fuel, 72db,Speed w,load 92 so on paper are a pretty good tyre,. they beat all these Bridgestone T001,Bridestone S02, Bridgestone 050a.

the yokohoma AD08 is not available at the moment in the uk as it being replaced by the AD08R in the autumn.

toyo 888 are great in the dry but not the wet

Hankook RS2 not Available in the uk at the moment.

Bridgestone RE11 not avaialable in the uk

Goodyear F1 asymetric 2 not available in 16"
Pirelli PZero not available in 16"
Michelin pilot super sport not available in 16"

No Continentals are rated at better than B in the wet

Toyo Tr1, E in the wet

Uniroyal rainsport, B in the wet

Michelin Pilot exalto 2 , B in the wet

Yokohoma V105 B in the wet

The only other tyre up there is the Dunlop sport 01, Wet A, Fuel F,66db,speed v, load92

obviously this is all only going by their ratings so on paper the firestone sz 90 or the Dunlop sport 01 are the best but all that means is they stop quicker in a straight line in the wet.

What really matters is how they grip in the corners.

Does anyone have personal experience of either of these tyres?

What I am interested in is the grip especially in the wet in a bend when you get on the power.I want a tyre that will grip coming out of a roudabout in the wet at 3000-4000 rpm. Can anyone help?

Ive got the continental DW in the stock sized 16's and they handle rain and wet roads insanely well. Ive hit the worst downpours ever in my driving career and felt completely safe. They stick decently in the dry but its definitely no starspec or kook rs3. Ive beat on them pretty good for the past 12k miles now with 2 track events and 1 autox and theyre still 70% left in the rears.

can you get the Dunlop star specs in the U.K.? On the dragon trip this year, I was very pleased with their performance in the driving rain, thru standing water, around those corners.

check it out.

Has anyone tried Dunlop Maxx RT tyres?

Out of the tires that are available in the uk at the moment the Dunlop Maxx RT, Firestone SZ90,and Continental sport 5 look like the best three but I don't know anyone who has actually used them.

If anyone has these on their car please let me know what they are like. Please don't describe the tyres unless you had them from new as otherwise it gives miss leading advise. for instance with 3mm tread left 78% of the tires grip has gone so comparing them against new tires is a waist of time.

Thanks
