Default AP1 stock rears

There doesn't seem to be a large selection of 245/45/16 for the stock rears, but a much larger one for 245/50/16. Will that fit?

You do get a lot better tires now in the 225/50R16 size. Take a look at the Dunlop Star Spec. If I can help with the tires let me know.

The only tire stillin the 245/45R16 is the Fuzion ZRI. They are not a bad tire but there are better options in the 225/50R16.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

"No problem" other than worse gearing (equivalent to swapping the stock 4.10 gears for 3.91) and non-optimized ABS (bias moved to the front) due to the rears being more than an inch taller than stock.

Not to mention there aren't really any serious high-performance street tires in that size that I know of (except drag radials).

Not saying you can't run such a fitment, just pointing out that there are some drawbacks.

Generally, for high-performance tires for the AP1, 225/50-16 is going to be the best (only) option for rear tire size.

I hope I can help end the 225 vs 245 debate. What we are forgetting is that tire sizing is just like shoe size, they are not the same for each brand and model. So you look more at the measurements and not the just tire sizes.

Examples:

Bridgestone Potenza S-02 OEM sizes
Front: 205/55ZR16 Overall Diam: 25" Tread Width: 7.1"
Rear: 225/50ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.8" Tread Width: 8.5"

ADVAN Neova AD08
Front: 205/55ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.8" Tread Width: 7.7"
Rear: 225/50ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.8" Tread Width: 8.5"

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Front: 205/55ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.9" Tread Width: 7.6"
Rear: 225/50ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.9" Tread Width: 8.3"

Fuzion ZRi
Front: 225/50ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.9" Tread Width: 7.2"
Rear: 245/45ZR16 Overall Diam: 24.6" Tread Width: 8.6"

Also with reference to the overall diameter a .1 or .2 difference in size is not that big of deal. It's less then the difference between a new tire and a worn one. If you start with 10/32s of tread depth, when it's worn to about 4/32s all the way around it's lost about 3/8s (.375) of an inch diameter.
