Si,

Check this out offset calculation

You *will* need tyres as those 225 stretch will look and handle rubbish!

The steering will be *really* heavy with the extra weight and width of the front wheels!

Keep looking!

I'm begining to think I may just wait for a decent set of wheels to come up on the forum second hand

I do like my rays Shame they don't fill the arches that well. I brought them just before I got this job!

Yep, I understand totally...I am just saying keep shopping...that +30 is what's going to kill you, not the wheel width.

So what would be your suggestion for offset?
Well, look at your wheel setup now. It should be good to run a 255 without rubbing, maybe even a 265 tire. I am only looking from what I can see of clearance with the pictures, but you may know more. A good offset would be +45 up to +55 or so to fill in the fenders, while allowing decent tires. Another good size would be 17x9.5 with a +38 or +40 offset, although you may have to increase your negative camber.

Volk makes a 17x9.5 +47 CE28N...

...your wife would probably kill you

Might bring on the labour however!

Thanks for your all help I think I may as well hold out for the better wheels/rims

Getting rid of RAYS for some Rotas doesn't make much sense to me, but if they fit and look good then go for it. I'd love to help answer your question, but have no experience with aggressive wheel fitment and the Spoon kit.

I guess it depends on what exactly the definition of "will they fit" is being used / asked by the OP. This seems to be a matter of personal opinion with all of the posts I read in this forum

Can you bolt them to the car....Yes

Are they gonna stick out / rub / require modification / require a lot of camber....Yes

Is it going to be a "great performing" wheel / tire setup.....probably not.

...and I agree....the fronts a the bigger issue
