Default Any one have 17" ASA AR1's

I have been looking at buying a set of ASA AR1's from Tire Rack, but the notes say the rear will be out past the edge (45mm off set)

Will they rub against the Edge under hard cornering? with stock tire size 245/40-17

Thoughts ??????

With the stock 215/245 stagger those wont rub with a proper sport alignment. They are pretty narrow wheels though (.5" shy from stock in rear) The S benefits from wider wheels and tires. Considering the stocks being good looking and quality wheels, then it would seem to me that if your going to invest in a new set, get a size that increases the performance capability. A 8/9 225/255 is a typical up size we do on this car, and much more can be had with some basic fender work.

Thanks,

Just wasn't sure how much suspension travel there is in the stock set up.

I wouldn't want to hit a big dip in the road and have the tire hit the fender.............OUCH!

The wheel cambers in as it compresses in the s2k. You can always jack up a corner to compress before driving to make sure there will be no rubbing, with any wheel set up. Setting a little more negative camber can mean the difference between rubbing or not if its close. These wheels specs are somewhat close but not a deal breaker. You won't need to mess with the fenders at all since you will be about 5-7mm away from the lip based on average stock to conservative lowering height camber alignment.

You should be more worried about the front hitting than the rear. They should be ok at stock height but if you lower you may want to roll the front. Rear would still be fine.

Also these are still a little narrow. I would look for wheels closer to OEM AP2 widths and offsets.
