Default Any chance of staggering same size rims?

I'm getting 17x7 all around and trying to figure out a good tire size to put on these. I read that you sacrifice performance with a non-staggered setup, so is there any chance I can put maybe 215/45-17 with 235/45-17? or would it 215/45-17 with 235/40-17? Any help and advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I've run 17x7 all around twice now. Had 205/45/17 and 225/45/17's and they were too small and I didn't like it. Then I switched to stickier 215/45/17 and 225/45/17 because those were close to stock O.D. and they worked fine. You can put 235's on there, haven't tried that, but no need now that I am running staggered Volks.

Offset is either 45 or 42, not sure which.

Also is your car lowered? I think the 45 offset may work, but I am not sure. I'd do 225's first, and see how much room you have, then after those wear down, try the 235's.

My car is not lowered, but i've thought about lowering it about 1/2 an inch in the future. But the s2000 owner from which I bought these 17x7's had 225/45 in the front and 245/40 in the rear, and he had no problems. I'd like the get the widest tires i can on the car, but I don't want it to be unsafe or rub.
