Default Another Fitment question

Alright before you guys tear me a new one, yes i've already read through the fitment guide, yes i already have some specs in mind that i know will fit, yes i know what i need to do.

My question is based more around real world experience for some people and their opinions.

Originally i wanted to run 17x9.5 +41 TE37 (evasive Spec). Now circumstances being, the color i want is totally sold out, so my choices are now, settle on a color that wasnt my first choice, or purchase a different sizing.
I have gotten my fenders rolled and trimmed so they can fit the evasive spec while looking stock and not pulled. I'll be on coilovers when these wheels go on.

I have the option to purchase 17x9.5 +45, 17x9 +40, 17x9.5 +38.

17x9.5 +45, i know i can run so no questions here.

17x9 +40, i read some conflicting information. Some people say i will need a pull in order to run these. Is 1 offset going to be that much of a difference? Or is it because of the fact that its .5" shorter than the evasive spec wheels?

17x9.5 +38, i know this is a stretch, but would this even be doable? I'm assuming no, however if people have had luck i might consider this and run a 245/40/17 tire to compensate and run as much camber as i can without looking stupid.

Any help would be great. I do like the more concave look of the evasive spec wheels which is why i want to be lower than +45, however if i cant get away with it, then i'll just deal with it.

Thanks.

If you can run a 9.5 +45 then you can run a 9 +40 since the 9.5 will be about 1.5mm more aggressive in terms of fender clearance. I think either of these are pretty aggressive with a 255 on stock fenders, but maybe I am conservative.

The 9.5 +38 with a 245 will be a little bit more aggressive in terms of fender clearance than the 9.5 +45 with a 255. You gain some fender clearance where it matters since you're no longer dealing with an entirely square tire profile.

Is your car lowered?

Those are all pretty aggressive.

For reference, 17x9 +45 w/ 255 RT615K+ on left, 17x9.5 +43 w/ 255 BFG Rival on right. -2.5 camber in both.

Yeah i realize they are all super agressive fitment. Car will be lowered as i'm purchasing coils very soon. I have a friend who is running the evasive spec TE37 and his fitment is basically what i've wanted since getting this car so i know how they will look. WE both had our cars fenders rolled by the same guy to the same specs so i know for a fact they should fit and look good. I am however looking for a potential alternative if evasive cant get me the color i want. The benefit is i save almost 800$ since the other place i would be getting the alternate wheels from is giving me a good deal.

Looking at the pictures, if i had to run 17x9 i think it would be ok. I do however worry a bit in the future as i plan on adding FI to the car in a few years and i wont want to buy another set of wheels.

If the car isn't a track car 9" width is fine. (Even if it is one....it still fine)

I'll do the math for you.

17x9.5 +45 is 4mm less aggressive than 17x9.5 +41.
17x9 +40 is 5mm less aggressive than 17x9.5 +41 BUT the tire will be more square so similarish fitment.
17x9.5 +38 is 3mm more aggressive than 17x9.5 +41.

There are ways to fit 17x9.5 +38, but it'll take effort.

OMG thank you so much. Seeing the actual numbers side by side helps a ton. The car is my daily with minor track days however it will eventually turn into a track car. It seems like 17x9 +40 is the way to go if I want something similar to the original specs I was looking for.

The fitment on the front will be the issue across all of those. 17x9.5 +38 is (and even the +41) is pushing it for the fronts. You'd need a pretty significant fender pull but this is the case across the board here. Not sure if you are dead set on a square setup but I would maybe consider running a slightly higher offset in the front and then the more concave version in the rear. Sometime this also helps with brake fitment down the road if that is ever something you consider.

Well as luck would have it, Evasive actually is having the color I want but as a final batch come in during the summer. So I managed to put my down payment and got the spec that I want. Its pretty aggressive however the guy who rolled my fenders is very confident that this spec will fit. I'm inclined to believe him as someone in my car group is running the exact same wheels as the ones I ordered and we both had our fenders rolled by the same guy. No issues on his so I'm hoping for the same on mine. Thanks everyone for the info. I'm still trying to wrap my head around offsets and wheel sizes for cars, its all very confusing for me but I think I have a better idea now.

Run -3 camber all around and a 245/255 tire stagger and you should be close.
