I really appreciate everyone's comments and recommendations. Your input is definitely appreciated.

1. I don't plan to "track-race," nor have even thought of it. I merely wanted "lightweight" wheels because I thought the current MY06 wheels are "lightweight." I just didn't want to deviate too much from the weight of MY06 wheels.

2. Based on information I've acquired from our CLUB's various threads, it is my understanding that multi-piece wheels are much stronger than 1 piece. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The same understanding I have with "forged" wheels.

3. I also thought that it would be easier to powder-coat the center/face of the wheel if it's a multi-piece wheel.

4. I had no idea that multi-piece wheels are heavier than 1-piece. My lack of knowledge have forced me to ask for your assistance.

5. I'm familiar with this site : http://www.wheelweights.net. However, I found through my web search that the majority of wheels listed from this site aren't S2000 compatible.---at least the ones listed "lightweight," "forged," and "multi-piece."

I will continue my wheel search. Again, thank you very much for your input.

CE28s would be your best bet, or Mugen MF10s...

what about the other volks? not ce's, te's, or re's. but sf challenge, gtn, etc. there are two piece volks out there, no? and they're probably decent in weight. sorry i cant be more specific. i'm not that knowledgeable. but you should do some research with that.

Multipiece wheels are not necessarily stronger, but they are more easily fixable when damaged, have a lip, and you can powdercoat your centers if you wish (not saying you can't do the same to a monoblock wheel).

if you deviate from your wheel weight 2-3 pounds up or down, it wont make much difference, especially if you get the right fitting wheels.

I'll take a heavier wheel with wider tires that a lighter wheel with smaller tires

yeah with those combinations, its gonna be tough finding a set of wheels

you can get 17" lightweight forged, but it probably wont be multipiece and wont have a big lips

you can get 17", multipiece, decent step lips, but it wont be 16lbs, might be half forged half cast

big regular lips will be hard because of our high offset, and if you can find a set with big lips...the spokes would stick out anyway which looks bleh in my opinion

I just want to sincerely extend my gratitude to everyone as you all been very helpful and informative. I'm almost done researching some of your wheel recommendations and I hope to have a decision by this weekend or at least early next week.

It's a tedious task, however, I have learned a lot from reading some of the various threads relating to this topic. I'll never know the answers to my questions and doubts unless I ask you guys.

I would like to verify one thing if I may. Based on what I've read and how I understood it, wide lips are definitely not possible to obtain due to the required high offset on S2000. If this is indeed the case, then what would be the approximate MAXIMUM lip-width I would be able obtain from a set of wheels if I follow the minimum offsets as recommended from our "WHEEL FITMENT GUIDE" thread?

Would at least an inch or two lip-width possible with the following set-up? (crossing my fingers)

I should be able to tell you in a few days. I am waiting for the replacement rear wheels to arrive. They are 18x8.5 +45. As soon as I can confirm they do fit I will tell you what lip size they have.

I have 18" Volk GT-Cs and we weighed them on my friends scale and the fronts were under 18lbs and they rear was just a bit heavier. They are 18x7.5 50mm f and 18x8 50mm rear. With a 225/40/18f and 245/40/18r they didn't rub when I had a reasonable drop and factory spec camber. I flared and rolled my fenders in the rear and went with a more aggressive drop- but really all I needed to do was roll the rear fender. Why not roll the rear?
