Advice on rear tires.
My 2003 S2000 has 12,500 miles and the rear S-02's are shot. The fronts have quite a bit of wear left. What kind of mileage are folks getting on the front S-02's? I'm getting ready to buy new tires but thought I would get the forums feedback. I'm considering getting new S-02's for the rear but this would commit me to at least a full set of four S-02 in the future. I could replace all four with a new model or I could replace the rears with a different model. I've never ran a car with miss-matched tires. Thoughts?
Thanks.

stick with the S0-2s, for summer. S0-3s for the rain. the fronts last a long time. however they do get hard with age. I changed mine[fronts] because they were about 4 years old. always run the same tires front and back. 12k is above average mileage that most folks get out of there rears. drive safe

Your rear tire life is about average.
If you just street drive your car the fronts last approximately 2 that of the rears. IMO, you should get SO2 rears now to prevent mismatching and then replace all four with your choice of tires.
If you track or autocross your car occasionally the fronts will burn off faster. In which case just replace all four.
