Well...I have a '99 Accord EX coupe V6 that needs new tires, and the OEM sidewall aspect ratio offers very little when it comes to performance options. My question is directed at Alex and Jim at the Tire Rack specifically(because I intend to order through you), but if you know the answer by all means, please tell me. The OEM size is 205/60R-16....Would it be possible to use a 205/55R-16, or move up to a 215/60R-16? How much would the speedo be off, and would it read high or low(with the lower aspect ratio)? I don't want to take any chances when it comes to safety, and I think the wider tire might be too much for the rim width (i think 7 inches?), though I'm not sure. Does it depend on the tire? I'm looking at Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's, MX's, Michelin Sport Pilots, or Potenza S0-3's. If you guys have any other reccomendations, please post.

P.S. I'm looking for a little more excitement when flicking the car through freeway onramps and the like...nothing really extreme, though the tires I'm looking at might seem it. (should I be looking at a different selection of tires/brands?)

The only size you can go to correctly is a 215/55R16. It will be a little shorter and a little wider. The other tires you mention would be too short or too tall for the car. We do have the S03 in the 215/55R16 at 144.00 per tire. You can check on all the performance tires on our web site.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
