Thanks guys, I did some searching and it seems like getting ~20k miles out of RE11's or Star specs isn't unheard of which is good to hear. That should last me a good 2 yrs which isn't bad if they're a good step up from HTR Z3's.

Wow, nice wheels. I am leaning towards the RE-11a right now to put on my CE28n. The lower noise is definitely a big selling point. Occasional autocross, no track days as they require a roll bar around here.

^ I'm also considering between these two tires as well as the BFG Rival.

I ended up purchasing the RE-11a. The tires should be delivered in the middle of next week, just as the weather starts to warm up. Thanks for all of the responses.

My initital drive with the RE11A was not very positive. They feel very soft but I have yet to push the car. The steering feel is noticeably different as well. Im hoping its just until they break in.

What size tires on what size wheels? What cold pressures are you using?

17x9 with 255 square. Cold psi 35 for street use.

After my second drive and getting a little more acquainted these have A LOT more grip than my previous tires. (595RSR) Will update after Sunday with track impressions. Pretty hopeful for now.

Everything sounds good to me, just making sure you weren't using a 255 on a 7" wheel and complaining of lack of feel or something crazy like that. Im sure you already know this but new tires almost always feel sloppier than the ones you just replaced due to being full tread depth (tread squirm) and having the mold release lube on the tire until you really scrub them in the first few sessions on track or a few hundred miles on the street. Im sure they will start to feel much better as they wear and then the cycle repeats itself.

Looking forward to hearing your track impressions

FWIW I run 245/40 re-11 on 17x9 square and my tires didn't start to feel great until the second or third session on track. After tomorrow's track day I will have 4 track days and a few thousand miles on them and they have been feeling great ever since on both street and track.
