Default 71R's won't seat

I currently have dunlop ZII's 245/40/17 front and 255/40/17 rear on my stock ap2 v2 rims. I recently bought the same sizes on the bridgestone 71r's. My installer can get the tires on the rims but can't get them to seat. Anyone else have these sizes on their stock rims?

A 245 on a 7" wide rim is really too wide to be effective, quite bulged. However I wouldnt think there would be any issue with getting it to seat. Not sure whats going on there.

my 215's are pretty much flush with the wheel, 245 would be kinda bubbly

I have heard of this problem with these tires already once before. Tell the installer to use one of their doughnuts. Its a tool that helps. Ill see if i can find a link to what im talking about

Thanks for the help. I agree that for daily driving, 245's are too wide. I'm using these for autocross so it's not unusual for drivers to have 245's on all four or 245 up front and 255 in back.

Rim width restrictions I guess.
