Default 5zigen fn01rc OR advan rzii

Hey guys I just wanted to see if anyone is running this wheel/offset and if it would work.. I plan to pull out the front fenders and have rear asm over fenders installed.

17x9 +45 SQUARED 255/40/17 (Advan rzii)

OR

17x8 +35
17x9 +43 (5zigen FN01RC)

225/25/17 FRONT
255/40/17 REAR

Which would be the preferred setup? Or would neither really work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You do not need the over fenders for the rears. If they are already there you can go for a lower offset or a wider wheel so they don’t look sunken in. I have fn01r-c and run 17x9 +43 front and 17x10 +35 rear 245 front and 255 rear. From has downforce front fenders and asm rear fenders. I can run the 17x10 +35 all around with the 255 but the 17x9 is easier for street driving.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the fenders are being installed, the only issue is that I already have the advan wheels in the spec that I had stated and I do not want to purchase new wheels if I can somehow make these wheels work. Would I just need to add a spacer for the rear wheels?

Yeah a spacer would work for now. I’d probably be looking for a wider wheel in the future but a spacer will at least fix the sunken in problem on the rears. Fronts really only need a roll and maybe a slight pull.

By any chance do you think these specs would work with the front fenders pulled putting a 225 tire up front and 255 in the rear (rear asm over fenders)?

17x8 +35 FRONT
17x9 +43 REAR

Yes they will fit but the rear will still look sunken in. Fronts will be good but the rear will still need a spacer. There is no need for over fenders with either of these setups they fit under rolled oem fenders.

I’m only getting them installed because I have damage on the rear quarter panel.. is there a wheel setup that would be better then?

Fix the quarter panels, that’ll look way better than sunk wheels and fender flares.

To make the flares not look completely useless you’ll have to look for lower offsets or go a good bit wider.

Advan RZII in 17x9 +45 Square

Reasons:
  • They're still in stock and can be purchased OTS, including replacements if you damage a wheel
  • Prefer the handling of a square setup - instantaneous turn-in response
  • Ability to rotate tires F/R, allowing you to maintain similar heat cycles on your tires - replace all 4 at the same time

I'd ditch the ASM overfenders - not needed for either of the wheel options you selected.
If you do over fenders, at a minimum go with 10" wide wheels. Wide body s2000s on bicycle width wheels/tires - even if pushed out flush to the fenders - look lame.
