Default +38 offset on stock ride height

so ive had MY02 for just over a year and it came with a set of 17x7 +38 enkei PKRs on them

the suspension is still stock and it doesn't rub and I don't think it could bump up all the way to the fender

but I know most people on here are running +45ish

so is this safe long term?

also I have a set of 18x7.5 +38 enkei OR52s will these be safe to run as well?

thanks for the help

The reason you don't rub is because they are so narrow. Everyone uses higher offsets to prevent rubbing with wider wheels. Nothing will break, but if I were you I'd be looking to get some wider wheels.

Throw all of the wheels away (well ok maybe sell them) or put them on a civic where they belong and buy wheels that are correct for this car. Read the sticky. You want AP2 widths at least with proper offsets. What size tires are you running? 205's? 215's? The CR came with 215 front and 255 rears for a reason.

Stick with 17's. Tires for that size will be much more affordable. Also try and do 8.5 or 9 square not 8. You may want to look at the pf01 from enkei. Comes in oem ish offsets and widths.

Also if you do go with the RPF1, the 9" wide is the minimum to get that more desirable/aggressive looking concave face. 9 +45 is the best overall fitment with the least modifications necessary. 8.5" wide and narrower have the convex face, which I think is most fitting visually for the front and also a necessary for BBK fitment, but it looks terrible in the rear. My sig shot is a good example of R concave/ F convex differences.

might need a fender roll (esp in the rear) with those +45 9"s.
