Default 255/40/17 tires on 17X8.0 +41 wheels?

Im looking at a set of wheels right now and the front specs are okay but the rear wheels are 17X8.0 +41.. It's a little too narrow for me, but it's all I could find at the moment. So my question is, would I be able to fit 255/40 tires on the rear? I'm dropped about 1.5 inches in the rear with -2.0 camber and my rear fenders are rolled. Would that tire size fit on those wheels? Would I rub with that offset?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

BTW I'm on 18x9.5 with +45 offset with 255/35 tires right now and dont rub..

Thank you,
Edmond

I think a 255-40-17 would look kinda silly on a 8 inch wide wheel, but it could just be me.

it would fit but the tires are going to be bubbled out instead of being square.

I have one on a 8.5 and it looks perfect IMO. sidewall is ever so slightly bubbled but looks almost flat. so a 8" will have a little more ballooning but im sure it will fit. not sure of the effects on handling and such due to the tire kind of sloshing around so someone else may be able to comment on that.

it should look ok. I have 245's on an 8 inch and its straight up and down. Another 5mm on each side isn't going to look that bad.

I've fit 285 racing tires on an 8" rim before. They bubbled a little, but not bad. I run 245's year round and they fit great. 255's should be about the same with no issues.
