245/45r16 very low supply?
Seems like the market for 245/45r16 is at a very low supply. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
I found online the stock ap1 tires are advertised as 225/45r16 but are closer to 245/45r16 size.
I think my choices are:
- tirerack.com bridgestone re-11 245/45r16 $400, then probably take it to discount tire shop for $80 fees of mounting (there's no tires on discounttire.com for that size)
- go with 225/45r16 tires
I've tried using google shopping, tirerack.com, 1010tires.com, discounttire.com, amazon.com; they very few options or none.
Does anyone have suggestions? what other sites should i look at?

You don't need 245/45-16 tires. If you insist on this size, you are guaranteed to not have the best street tires for your S.
OEM sizes are totally fine: 205/55-16 front, 225/50-16 rear.
Forget the stickie and anything else you found online about how you need 245/45-16 rears. You don't.

I don't think they make s2k s02 anymore do they?
I'd start looking for some 17" aftermarket or ap2 wheels you like in the used market, and you might get lucky with them having decent tires on them already.

Tire rack has them listed. Unless these aren't the actual oem ones.

S02s aren't the best idea. Big $$$ for an obsolete tire with poor wet grip. There is a decent selection of better-performing tires that are cheaper.
Don't get hung up on a couple of tenths of an inch of tread width. Wouldn't bother with 20-30mm of section width you could get with 17s either. On the street and even at the track you can get good grip with the right tires in OEM 16" wheels. If a couple tenths to half a second really matter to you at the track and you have $$$ burning a hole in your pocket, then yeah, 17s or even 18s if you must have seriously wide tires.
But IMO just get RE11A in 205/55-16 and 225/50-16 and enjoy

Other options in addition to the RE-11A: Dunlop ZII, Toyo R1R, Yokohama AD08R. All of these will beat the OEM S02 in the dry and destroy it in the wet. And for WAY less $$$.

If all these are available in the OEM/ap1 size then yeah I agree. I haven’t shopped for 16" tires for this car in about 8 years. The s02 are a nice constructed tire though, quite precise a handler at the limit of adhesion. Tires with a 5” sidewall typically feel vague/squirm under load.

are the 245/45r16 tire sizes going to be low supply for a long while? Or is there some type of tire factory refresh period? i guess i don't know much about the tire industry so this question might sound dumb, but an answer is still appreciated.
after some quick research on 1010tires.com and tirerack.com looks like these tires are all comparable. great little list. I'm going to rank these all close, but i'll put the yokohama as bottom of the list for these 4 tires. The rest of the 3 tires i'd consider them all tied due to similarities for dry traction, wet traction, road noise, and treadwear.
1.) RE-11A
1.) Dunlop ZII
1.) Toyo R1R
2.) Yokohama AD08-R
