Default 235/45/17 Rubbing in Front

Hey guys,

Had a question for you all. I bought 235/45/17 Khumo XS tires for stock wheels up front on recommendation from an AutoX buddy of mine. He claimed 235s fit up front without modification, and so I happily bought a set to help with front end grip during my autox events.

But I recently installed them and they ride fine until pushed. Now in hard corners, I hear rubbing. I think it's rubbing on the fender liner. The car is completely stock. Has anyone else had the same problem with 235s on a stock S2k? And will this cause any adverse problems to the car during autox? Thanks!

235/40-17 is a much better size to go with. 235/45-17 is taller than stock, 235/40-17 is shorter than stock, much less likely to rub.

Sounds like a plan, but the Khumos didn't come in 235/40-17

If no 235/40-17 were available, I'd probably try 245/40-17 (24.7" OD) before 235/45-17 (25.4" OD).

What's your camber?

If you are on 7" stock wheels then I wouldn't go any wider than 225.

Yeah i just got some 17 x 9 with 63mm offset from 949 Racing, theywheels are awesome. I tried to get 255/40 all the way around, didn't happen. Tomorrow I am having them put 245/40 or 235/40. Will this mess up the abs or vsc? And what about the tire pressure sensors, is there anyway to disable them?
