Default 225 on a 17x9

Will a 225 tire fit on a 17x9 +45 wheel ? I want to run squared 17x9 with a 225/255 setup

it can be done but it will be very stretched.
not recommended.

it's stretched but I'm not sure I'd call it "very stretched".. personally I'd run 235/40 and 255/40

here's a couple of other threads with pics and more information, did you forget to try a search?

It is what I am running, slightly depends on the tire but it my case a 225 isn't that much of a stretch with a RE-01R.

very stretched, not stretched at all... it will vary on who you ask...
someone that's into stretched tires might say 205 on a 9 isn't "very stretched"

I personally have 235 on a 9inch in the front and that is the max stretch I would go and yes I know there isn't much of a "stretch".

This is not true, It is not even close to "very stretched". It is in the safe range of stretch, the section width of most 225 tires is in the 8.7"-8.9" range and on a 9" wheel you will not have a problem.

Most tires spec a 7-8.5" wheel for a 225 width tire. 9" isn't a terrible stretch, but it is outside of the recommended range. I personally wouldn't do it, but many others have.

Yup, 235/40 makes a ton more sense. It's significantly shorter than a 225/45, probably no more likely to rub, possibly *less* likely to rub.

+4 go with 235/40 ...or even a 245 should fit with some minor coaxing.
