If I remember correctly, of course the difference in sidewall from the front tires, this is what the CR runs on.
I'm not trying to match the CR's specs but this is just an experiment. Before doing so, I'd like some input. I'm thinking about going 215/40 as opposed to 215/45 for my front tires... and of course 255/40 for the rear.
My main two questions would be, what would be the effects, benefits, problems that I would run into with by having a smaller side wall for the front tires?
And has anyone else done this on their car not being a CR?

You don't remember correctly.
CR runs on 215/45-17 fronts, 255/40-17 rears.
The biggest effect of running shorter tires on the fronts is greater front brake bias. Braking distances would likely increase a bit.
FWIW, I ran an even greater front/rear disparity once: 205/45-16 with 225/50-16 rears. Not my choice, they were track tires that were *given* to me Anyway, the fronts were definitely worked harder under maximum braking at the track. My impression was that at full ABS braking the rears weren't doing their full share.
I would recommend against 215/40-17 with 255/40-17 rears, I'd go with the stock size fronts, or alternatively 225/45-17.

The CR has a different suspensoin setup allowing for the 215/255 setup. Not that it cant be done, but I would stay away from this unless you swap out for a CR setup. 215/245, 225/255, from recent threads it seem like you need to run those setups in order to have the function of the suspension (meaning all ECU read out too), and of course this is if your are talking about your stock setup (stock AP2 V1 wheels?)

But I did remember correctly. I remember I said "If I remember correctly, of course the difference in sidewall from the front tires, this is what the CR runs on"
