Default 2 to 3 piece wheels - changing the width

I came across some 2 piece work wheels that I'd like. I like the offset, but I want it wider. I want to make it a 3 piece (if a 2 piece set up isn't available)

I'm looking for a pair of 10'' and a pair of 9.5''

Who can I get it from?

The wheels are Work wheels and 17'' diameter.

You cant make a 2 piece wheel into a 3 piece wheel. what kind of 2 piece wheel is it? Lips come off, or faces come off?

at least you can't for sure if it's a meister. They actually weld the face to the barrel on those.

yea idk if you will be able to change the width, and either way I bet it would just be cheaper to just buy Works new in the sizes you want

2 piece and 3 piece wheels are changeable.

2 piece wheels: middle portion of the wheel + 1 dish
3 piece wheels: middle portion of the wheel + 1 dish + 1 dish

both are held down by bolts.
3 piece wheels need air sealants

im sure 2 piece wheels can be taken apart and the middle portion of the wheel can be held onto 2 dish portions to make it wider.

3 piece wheels are easier to replace when the wheels bend / break (usually the outside dish). 2 piece wheels might cost more, but are still replaceable. 1 piece wheel need the whole wheel replaced.

I have had both 2 and 3 piece wheels before so no need for an explanation... With a couple sets of wheels I have had, the faces were welded onto the wheel so unless you are going to re-weld them, you can't change their widths.

Also, I know that in general you can change widths of wheels but have heard that most of the time it is fairly expensive (unless the lips/barrels are readily available like some BBS wheels). I guess I shouldn't have said "idk if it can be done". I should have said "idk if it can be done at a reasonable price to justify buying a used set as opposed to buying exactly what you want new".

yep but maybe someone here knows a place that does it for a reasonable price (although I've never heard of one).

Good luck

You can widen a 2 piece wheel. Some 2 piece wheels, its faces to barrel 1 piece, lips the 2nd piece. You can buy bigger lips that would widen the wheel. If its a two piece where its Lips + barrels 1 piece and faces the second piece.. your screwed.
