Thumbs up 18x8 +42 and 18x8.5 +62?

Hi!

I have a chance to get some 17" Work Equip RS rims, but the offsets aren't very S2K-friendly:

Fronts: 17x8 +28
Rears: 17x9 +42

I've got a 2002 with stock suspension and OEM fenders. What are my best options to make these wheels fit and perform well?

I want to stay with my OEM fenders and just work with the usual mods: tire size, camber, suspension.. maybe fender pull/roll if I don't have to repaint.

By running these offsets, I don't want any rubbing, funky handling or worn tires, and hope the fronts don't stick out noticeably more than the rears.

Someone here fit Work Emotion XD9's (18x8) with the same +28 offset, and there are quite a few others in the
Crazy offset thread:

I don't mind sacrificing a little performance for the aesthetics of these rims..

Thanks!

run stretched tires, with a lot of camber, stiff suspension, and flared fenders... but even so, you will get worn tires and possibly funky handling. and you will still probably rub, depending on how low you are.

Thanks for the input! Will 14mm offset difference between front and rear really be noticeable?

I've been shopping around but everything I like that fits is custom (and often 3-piece).. which takes 2+mths to get: Volk GTS / Gramlights 57Max Pro, 5Zigen Hyper 5ZR, Momo FXL-One, OZ Raffaello, Work Meister S1 / LS105 / VS, etc.

I now realize I should've been looking back in February as I'm still running my Dunlop Wintersports and now need them off ASAP! And I don't really want to waste money on a second choice rim just to get the Dunlops off the car...

PS-I'm at stock height

Don't butcher your fenders for a set of used wheels.......Buy new or shop around for the right off sets. Remember the wheels effect the car in every manner of driving.
Don't Worry.... Beeeeee Happy Now

nothing will look right, no matter how aggressive the offsets are, at stock height.

The only way you get those to fit is to pull out the fenders and run narrow tires. They just are not a good fit. They probably do not have the S2K center bore either because they are not designed to fit the car.

Sorry..delayed.. but thanks again for the advice -- I passed on the Equips.

My next option (I refuse to wait 2-3mths for custom rims!):

Momo FXL One in Hyper Silver:
- 18x7.5 +45 and 18x8 +42
- Yokohama S. Drive 215/40/18 and 245/35/18

The wheel shop said they'll fit but Momo Canada said otherwise. Who do I believe?

Will 1/2" stagger be enough for this car? Will that offset look/work okay??

(slowly shredding the meat off his winter tires)

PS- what are the effects of a wheel not having the S2K center bore?

The Momo's are out. I'm seriously considering a set of Work Meister S1's:

18x8.0 +42
18x8.5 +62

The rear should be fine but what about the front? (running stock height)

Rubbing? Fender pull/roll needed? I'm thinking Bridgestone RE01R's (225/40/18 front, 255/35/18 rear).

Thanks!!
