Default 18 x 9.5 +55 Tire ?

So the wheels I'm looking at are 18 X 9.5 + 55 for the rears. If I roll the fenders can I get away with a 265/35?

Thanks!

Dunlops run narrow... depends on your tires Scott. You could probably get away easy with a 255 rear tire in any brand but going to a 265 might require somthing like Toyo T1-R or Falkens because they have a rounded off sidewall.

with 265's you will have an occasional rub if your not on rolled fenders. Once rolled, you will be rub free, but that all depends on how low your vehicle is. Just a thought.

I have the Dunlop Sport Maxx on the sames width and offset and was rubbing quite a bit before I trimmed down the fender lip. This was with the 255 setup, don't want to think what the 265's would be like.

I am running a 265-35-18 with a +55 in the rear, and I have lowered my car about an inch. My fenders are modified. At stock ride height, you will rub. If you are averse to rolling your fenders, play it safe with a 245-35 or possibly a 255-35. I wouldn't suggest you go higher unless you want to do some work to make it work.

So 255's shouldn't have any issues? If I do go with 255's at stock ride height I shouldn't need to roll my fenders then?

I'm running 265/35 with that size wheel and I have a finger gap in the rear I rub on occasion, but not bad; fenders not modified.

I went with 255's. Appearantly Tires with less "square" shoulders helps. I'm sacraficing a little grip, for greater treadlife by going with the RE040 over the RE050A (400 vs. 140). If it was good enough for an NSX - it's goo enough for me.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I want to lower the vehicle maybe an inch....so hopefully the rubbing issues wont arise.
