Thumbs down 17x9 +65 Non-Staggered...Rubbing Issue!

I got a set of 17x9 +65 non-staggered set of VOLK TE37s. The weird thing is that when I turn my steering wheel full lock, the front wheels get almost stuck, rubbing somewhere of the inner part of my fender, or fender liner? I dunno. Is this common, or is something wrong with my car? When it's turned full lock and I try to drive, it feels like Im about to break something!

I had a 17x7.5 +48 previously in the front, and figured a 17x9 +65 is about the same, considering +6 offset = .5" clearance, right? And, I've never heard of any problem like I have with running a non-staggered setup, other than having to roll the fenders, but mine are NOT rubbing on the fenders for sure.

How wide are the tres? You do have to look at the 1.5" wider wheel as well as the offset. It sounds like it is hitting on the fender liner though.

Actually, just a (slightly stretched) 225 in the front. It must be the fender liner, as I know someone else running a slightly more aggressive setup, 17x9 +45 with 255s all around with no issues. Gotta get off my lazy ass and jack the car up and turn the wheels to see.

When comparing to your previous setup. This setup is wider up front and is suck in more than prior. Probably why you are rubbing. Take the wheel off and see where the rub marks are underneath the fender.

this person has to have some type of fender work! unless they are stock height... there's no way (at least in my previous experiences)

Wow, amazing what the search function will do!

I found this:

[QUOTE=smccurry,Jan 22 2006, 03:48 PM]Dan's probably right. I run the Volk TE37 17X9 +65 all around for auto-x with V700 Victoracer's 245/40/17 F
