Default 17x8 on front and 18x8.5 on rear... tire size?

i have 245/40/18 on the rear and 215/40/17 on the fronts..

the rears are fine.. but my question is for the fronts... because of the rim size diff, would i have to buy a thicker tire? i was thinking something along the lines of 225/50? would this work?

thanks

In the 17" you would want to run 225/45R17. I also would recommend either a 245/35R18 or 255/35R18 on the rear. The 245/40R18 is 3/4" taller than the stock tires. I would think the set up you have would throw off your anti lock brakes.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
