planning to use 17x8.5+42 on a lowered AP1.....and 245/40/R17 tire.......
will that work or rub?????

It will rub. I had +40 with same tire size as mentioned without lowering and it rubbed on hard dips and angles. I went back to stock wheels since I put on CO's. Good luck. Looks very aggresive which I like, but not a good idea for spirited driving.

If you do:
1. get fenders shaved
2. run stretched tires (225 or 235's)
3. get an aggresive negatve camber adjustment

reacrich is correct. If you want to try to make it work you could but it will take some work.

k.....here is wut i am plannning to buy.......the work emotion XD9, and planning to get 17x7.5+50 in front and 17x8.5+42 in rear...........

since u guys said the rear will rub, should i go for 17x7.5+50 in rear too?? if yes, can i still run wider tires in the back???

With the 245 rear tires, it states on the wheel fitment guide that a +48 offset is the least that you would want to run without rubbing. Obviously +42 is a little below that, and on a lowered car it'd probably rub.

You could run a non-staggered setup if you wanted (7.5 in the front and rear), with maybe a slightly wider tire on the back than on the front, but then again you wouldn't be running the optimum setup for the car. I'd rather rub a little than run a non-staggered setup, personally.

I have the Wedsport A0-90s +42 with a 245/40/17 tire and lowered on KGMM race springs. It does rub without work. I had to do some trimming. So I wouldn't suggest getting them unless you are ready to MAKE it work.

the rear might be a little out there but with a tad extra camber and a 235/245 you'll be fine,

thx guys but,ok.........so some is saying will rub, some is saying won't.......

hum............when ppl say need work, is that mean roll or trim the inner lip of the rear fender/courter panel???

i am also planning to run about -2.0 camber on the rear.....so i think that will give me a bit more room..........

depending if you lower or not.. 2.0 might not be obtainable

some people on the forum like to run oem camber and oem specs and therefore the tire is straighter and they get better wear out of their tires but the wheels rub,

myself.. i feel that an extra degree of camber is worth the wear and if your so worried then add a little pressure to keep the inside from wearing so fast or just flip flop your tires if their directional when u get camber wear.

if your considering rolling the fender=these will fit easy
if your considering cambering in a little more than usual= these will fit easy
if your considering running "not the widest" tire u can find=these will fit fine

if your willing to do all 3, then you'll have so much room you wont believe it,

if you carry fat chicks around all day and have the trunk full of anything heavy i do not suggest you get the wheels, because the above 3 cannot help you there.

also, like i said if your lowered w/o and using stock bolts to change camber u might be past 2.0 already @ my drop lowest camber obtainable was -2.70, which is fine with me.. but to others thats just downright horrible


i see a little camber wear but nothing to write home about
