Default 17x8 +43 215/45 and 17x9 +39 255/40

I found a good deal on these wheels and would like to make them fit. I am currently on stock suspension, but I have purchased the DSG suspension that is being offered on sale this month (I will install it in the next week or two).

So far I have rolled the rear fenders and relocated the rear bumper tabs. I rolled the lip up from the stock 90 degree to somewhere around a 30-45 degree angle, and I rolled from where the rear bumper meets the fender to about 2 o'clock. I used a self tapping screw to attach the bumper to the tab further back and cut and bent the front of the tab where the stock screw mounts out of the way.

I test drove the car last night in a parking lot with the new wheels on and heard no rubbing when turning in tight circles all the way left or right or when driving over speed bumps. I have pushed hard on each corner and can't seem to get enough stock suspension travel to come close to making contact with the tires.

Is there anything else I should do to make sure I don't rub? I don't want to mess up any fenders.

What else will need to be done to make these fit once I have installed the coilovers? I intend to install the coilovers and realign the car with as much negative camber as possible while still staying in spec. Also, the rears are pretty worn, so I can replace them with 245/40/17's if that helps.

Here is a picture of the wheels off the car if that helps. I can post better pics of them on the car later (The pics on the car were taken with my cell phone.

On stock suspension its hard to make anything rub.... Now once youre lowered that will change quickly... The lower you are the easier youll rub... If by looking your wheels are still poking out you may need more camber or narrower tires or both... Anyway you'll have to wait until you have your new suspension installed to do anything.

If you do rub than try to find the height you want your car at and add camber... Or raise your car until the rubbing stop

Thanks for the info. I will hopefully be able to make these fit without too much more work.

I have been searching for hours and haven't been able to find much on what work needs to be done to the front fenders if I were to rub. The most detailed thing I have found has been this thread, but it is lacking pics and details. Anybody have any pictures or details of how to properly take care of the front fender rolling to keep from rubbing.

If you are stock height I would just run some negative camber. Search for the UK spec and start with it. I find it hard to believe you will do any damage at stock height.

I would suggest for you to get front fenders rolled at a body shop. You could also check your local forum and see if someone there has some advice.

I am stock height now, but my coilover kit gets here next week and I want to do the fender work before I lower the car.
