Is 17x8 +35 the wrong offset for the fronts?

Those are very aggressive offsets...Personally for me, I wouldn't put anything less than +48s on the front, but I am anti-rolling.

you can fender roll and tabs. I just did a car for a friend and he couldn't so we actually have a professional wheel place machine down the back of the wheel slightly and also mill the wheel mounting face on the rotor itself and then had them cryo treated. We gained about 5mm of extra clearance and I have been keeping an eye on both parts to ensure no cracking ect. But the wheel guy said he does them all the time and he does alot of corvette and viper track cars. You don't need to do that will the s but there are many other options too.
