I'm looking to get some new tires so I can start tracking my car.
I was told that 245/45's would be good for the rear, but what about the fronts?
I'm clueless, however, when it comes to tire sizes.

Can anyone chime in with some suggestions?

I'm looking to buy Kumho XS's if that helps.

Thanks.

I too have 17x8 & 17x9 wheels. I have a 245/40/17 on the rear and a 225/45/17 on the front.

With those wheels you are going to need to do some work on your fenders. The 245/45R17 is not a good size. Go with the 245/40R17 for much better handling. If I can help let me know.

i've got the same sizes too with +42 in front and +45 in the rear and fenders rolled flat. the OP is gonna need some fender work and neg camber to get his to fit.

I'm running 235/40 all around right now with minimal camber. My fenders are rolled and slightly pulled.

I'm just trying to see how much more tire I can squeeze into my set-up without having the tires to, either, poke or rub.

I don't mind running a little neg. camber but if I have to run smaller tires to fit, I'm alright with it.

if that's the case then just measure the gap between the wheel and fender and see how much room you've got!

215/40 fronts and 235/40 rear. 45s are too tall. I've tried 225/45 too tall then switched to 215/45 still too tall. Looks funky with the front being 45s and rear being 40s. Just do 40s all around thats what I'm doing next. Sh|t looks rediculous with the front being taller.

You should be able to get a 245/40 in the rear. Might need alittle more camber but it should fit.

the difference in sidewall height between a 215/45 and a 235/40 is less than 3mm. hardly noticeable and really the closest match you can get.

235/40 is what I'm currently running all around.
The fronts are fine but the rears show a little bit of a stretch. That's why I was thinking maybe 245/40s or 245/45s might be a good fit.

The way it looks right now looks like I might be able to squeeze in a 245 in the rear.

Thanks for the input guys!
