17x8 & 17x9?

17x8 & 17x9?
I have a set of 17x8 +45 offset fronts and 17x9 +38 offset rears. I was doing some reading but still not clear wether or not this set of wheels will fit a S2000? I was reading that the fronts for a 17x8 a +44mm offset is recommended and the rears 17x9 requires a +63 offset, is this true? I know the fronts then will fit how about the rears, do I need like a spacer (12.5mm or even 25mm)? The tires size I plan to use is 225/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears. I would really like to use this set of rims on a S2000 so if I have to change the tires to a smaller staggered size, what is recommened? Bottom line is I want to be able to use this set of rims without any rubbing issues. Any recommendations on the tire and rim size for this set up? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Whoa, +38 rear is way off on a 9" rear. The front is fine but you will want closer to +65 on the rear. Theres no way that +38 rear will fit. Volk CE28N come in 17x9+63. The wheel will stick out something like 2 inches more then stock, tires 1.2 in farther out with the tires you want.

I agree that 225's in the front with +45 offsets will rub if your dropped.

With 8" rim front and back will work.
I know with an 8" rim you can go as wide 255 on the rear for a +48 but a +45 its really close, especially if your dropped.

I think you mean that the rim without the spacers of any kind will too far in, not too far out. Isn't it the smaller the number on the offset the further in it the rim sits and the larger the number the further out the rim sits? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that I am.

Save yourself a big headache and find a wheel that fits. You MIGHT be able to get away with a 205 tire on the front. But even the stock 00-03 with the 205 tire is a +53 or +55. The rears will be worse. If you are dropped forget it.
What wheels are these anyway?
