Default 17x7 w 40 offset, just a few questions

I'm looking at buying a set of rims that are 17x7 with an offset of 40. My questions are this, how will not staggering them affect my performance? These rims aren't available in any wider sizes. What size tire would u recomend for the front and rear? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to the staggering world, I just upgraded to an S2000 in the last week, I've always wanted one but couldnt quite afford till now. My last tuner was a Honda Prelude, so I'm trying to get all the information I can. Thank you for your help!

I wouldn't buy that set of rims due to the offsets and widths. But if I had them for a stock-fendered (non-rolled) S, I'd run 205/50-17 or 205/45-17 fronts and 225/45-17 rears. You might actually need some negative camber up front with the 205/50's.

Have you looked at the wheel fitment guide stickie above?

Sizes are very undersized to do a non stagger set up. I suggest you find you another set up. It will save yo headaches

I agree, they just don't fit correctly.
