17" x 8.5" +50 rims w/ 255/40 tire possible with front fender roll?
After a couple years of tracking my S with stock AP1 tire sizes I've decided to get some more rubber under the car. I was hoping to get some 17" x 9" 949 racing wheels but they seem to be out of stock everywhere and I don't want to wait until the new spec 949s are released next year.
I've considered getting some stock AP2 wheels, but those won't allow me to run the 255/40 setup front and rear that I want.
I've been looking at the Rota Jmag wheels, which are the Mugen M7 knockoffs. They make a 17" x 8.5" +50 offset wheel. According to the wheel and tire fitment guide, that would work for the rear but not the front.
My question is, since I've had my front fenders rolled already (because I'm running 18" volks on the street) are the chances good that 17" x 8.5" +50 with 255/40 tires would work in the front? Any input is appreciated, thanks.

I think you should be ok. You can just run a little more camber in the front if you are concerned about rubbing. If you really want to go 17x9 you can use the Enkei PF01s. They come in 17x9 +60 they should fit with no issues.

Just some food for thought.

Decided to go with some cheap rims I found on tire rack. 17" x 9" +62 for just $159 each, not the best looking rims but since these are for track use looks don't matter much to me. These seem like they should fit 255/40 tires front and rear, looking forward to trying out the hankook ventus RS3s
