16"s in front, 17"s at rear

just curious. i have a set of ap1 rims and i am an ap2. what would be wrong running a 225/50/16 rs-3 in the front with something like 255/40/17 rear??

3mm isn't much, but this combination *does* give a distinctly noticeable "big fronts/little rears" look, particularly on stock AP2 wheels (where the 225 fronts will be pooched on the 7" front wheels). Functionally, not a big deal. Aesthetically,

little confused... you running AP1s all around or AP1 in the front and some 17" in the rear?

sure, aesthetics are another story! i personally prefer a vertical sidewall or a slight stretch. functionally, the bulging tire will be more comfortable but the sidewall will deflect more in corners, the stretched tire will be less comfortable but deflect less in corners.

overall diameter would be about 5mm greater in the rear, so pretty close. but a 225 on a 6.5" wheel is going to bulge. not ideal performance wise and is going to look much different than the rear, not to mention your wheels won't match!
