16" wheel fitment issue..
Hello all,
I currently have 16x7 +40 all around with staggered OEM tire set-up. I had two rubbing on dip while cornering.. but no rub outside from that. Fenders and ride height are all stock.
My front tires are due for change so I was thinking if I can get same 225 tire as the rear tires.. If I change my front tire 205 to 225, will I need fender modification? Fitment guide sticky says at least 46+ offset for 225 tire size so I guess I will need it..
If I need a fender mod, what mod do should I need? tab relo? fender pulling? or should I just go with 205 tires on front?
Oh, and I never track and if I do, I won't be tracking with these wheels and tires so it's strictly for daily street driving.

Where are you rubbing? That will answer your "what fender mod should I do" question. If I had to guess I would bet it is either the tab or rear bumper but I would not be surprices if the fronts rub when the wheels are turned. Look for signs of rubbing like missing liner clips in the front or part of the rear bumper where the wheel has shaved some off.

If it rubs with 205s, I don't think I'd go to 225s.
Also, 225 is kinda wide on a 7" wheel. You can do it, but 7.5" (OEM rear width) or 8" would be preferable.
I'd stick with OEM tire sizes.

I am not really sure where it rubs because I only rubbed two times on extreme occasion. But I see the point..
Thank you all for your input. I guess I will just stick with OEM size.
