Default $1200 budget for rims

Hey guys, I have a budget of about $1200 and I need some help choosing a set of 4 staggered 17 inch rims. I already have the tires picked out which will be BF Goodrich ta kdw 2's and will reduce the budget to about $700 for rims. Or if anyone knows of any good looking staggered 16 inch rims, I could use the full $1200 on them. Any advice?

First of all, this thread will get moved to Wheels and Tires

second of all, what kind of wheels do you like? U need to find that first. Because theres usually always a decent replica of of the 2,500 you always want.

Sounds like Enkei RPF1's would fit the bill.

There are some other options like TSW and 949racing which you might wanna have a look at. RPF1s are nice looking rims but way too many people have them.

Advice: Don't go in with the idea that you *want* to spend all that you *can* spend. Find the least expensive option that meets your requirement and keep as much $$$ in your pocket or invested/saved/etc. as possible.

IMO, these wheels look great, only weigh 17 lb., and are $86/each:

You could go staggered with 16x7 fronts, 16x7.5 rears, but you may as well go 16x7.5 all around, IMO...

Guys all these RPFs and OZs are out of the budget of $700. The HLTs are around $1200, but that is without tires.

If you wanted to keep your stock tires, you could get RPF1 in 16 x 7 +35 and 16 x 8 +38 and probably be able to run stock tires. Those are pretty aggressive offsets, but you'd be using 205 and 225 tires, so should work. Plus, they are super light, 13.7 and 15.6 lbs...hmm sounds pretty nice actually. I wonder if anyone else has tried this...

Do you have to buy rims and tires now? If not, I say go ahead and wait a month or two to save up more money to get the setup that you want.

He mentioned staying on 16s and keeping his existing tires as an option:

7.5" is plenty wide for street tires (the best of which come in 225/50-16 max width), and 245/45-16 track tires are also easily fitted.

If you're not tracking and tenths don't matter, the benefits of much wider tires are marginal, and you lose hydroplaning resistance in heavy rain.
