i sold my rebuilt title one that had a fat scratch down the fender and door and qp from being sideswiped for $6000 about 6 months ago... only because I bought it for $7100 and insurance gave me $3000 for the damage

Take out a loan. If you buy a project and fix it up it will end up costing more in the long run. It is very hard to find deals on S2K's. IMO, anything under 12, that is in "good" condition, is a good deal.
