My wife and I are planning to buy an S2000 this summer (it's been on hold for ... three years). We want a 2006 or 2007 Laguna Blue. I'd rather it wasn't heavily modified, if at all. She found one in Denton, TX, which is a short drive from us.

It has an AP1 front bumper, after market wheels, and 'something' in the dash. I haven't called for details yet. I'm concerned about the front bumper primarily. Why would anyone put an older bumper on the car? The vehicle history appears to claim it was a lease car. It had nearly 37,000 miles put on it in 9 months. It seems to me maybe the original front was cracked or something and they happened to get a deal on an older bumper.

Any help would be great before I make the weekend drive to look at this car. What do you think it's worth? Is it even worth looking at or is a lease car with unusual changes too sketchy to mess with?

And if you have any suggestions for an 06/07 LBP I'd be willing to give them a look (:

Sorry to gank on your thread a bit, but I gotta get word out to possible interested parties.

I'd investigate a bit more into that S2K you're looking at...they could have put an AP1 bumper on it just because they like it....or it's been wrecked.

I'd definitely pass on the car.

That's a LOT of miles...and putting an AP1 bumper on an AP2 smells like trouble unless the original owner can explain the reasoning.
