i haven't been to the dragon ballrun or the slamander but i think you have some roads that are noteworthy. i just recently took highway 6 east from Vernon to
Nakusp then 6/31a to Kaslo and then 31 to Balfour ferry. lots of challenging corners. most are posted at 60 but a few at 30/20kmh. actually very few straight sections. also the scenery is great and the two ferries break up the ride. also didn't see the police at all. has anybody else driven this and compared this to other sections? i think this could be promoted as an annual run.

I've been going to the west coast for a lot of years and there are many, many fine roads to be driven on with this car. The problem I see with most of them, including the one you've discovered is it's relative distance from most centers with a significant number of S2000s. Vernon is a good 7 hours from Calgary and maybe about 5 hours from Vancouver. That's a long way to drive for another drive.
I fly to Toronto for the Salamander and then drive another 1.5 hours to get to the area where the drive takes place. And certainly a few people "near" there will drive several hours, stay a couple of days and do the drive. It would be great if that kind of enthusiasm could be found on this side of the country. You've got my interest.

my intentions are to try and spark some interest in starting an annual meet that would grow over time. given a known date then people could plan for or around that event. i know that you personally have shown alot of enthusiam/support for the s2ki group. i personally think one province over isn.t to bad compared to flying then driving. when members post the pictures of their events i think it is very encouraging. first would need a section of highway that appeals to a wide range of people's desires. scenery, driving skill,lodging/distance,meeting people, other activities. i found out about this highway by talking to a few people who voiced their enthusam for it. it has been a long time for me since i drove through b.c. i put it out there for those people to let the members know of memorable roads and let's try and get something going.

I tend to think the location will attract more folks to come out than the driving route itself. If the location is central and easy enough for people to gather there's a higher chance they will make room in their calendar.
I'll throw in Kelowna as a suggestion.
- It's a nice tourist town.
- Equal distance and has some wonderful roads leading into the city from Alberta, Washington and BC (Lower Mainland)
- It's in a mountainous region with lots of valleys which is a natural habitat for the S
I've "heard" that Kelowna is also the choice for the miata and corvette clubs. Obviously they've discovered something we haven't

It's definately time for an S2000 club here!
If you are looking for an amazing drive, I would recommend Westside Road. It's infamous around here (just drove it the other day). The road snakes (and I do mean snakes!) along the cliff's edge along Okanagan Lake all the way from Kelowna to Vernon. It's not only an incredibly fun drive, it's also very beautiful. To get from Kelowna to Vernon along Westside Road, then back to Kelowna via Highway 97 (along Kalamalka Lake - beautiful lake!), probably takes about 2 hours.

Too risky in B.C. IMO.
Here they are just itching to nail any sports car owner on "street racing".

I think I'm going to wipe my ass with that ticket and mail it back to the office with no payment!

It's much better outside of Vancouver and Ditchmond. I've never had any problem with any of them outside of Vancouver and Ditchmond. If I keep my S from those two cities I'm a much happier owner. The CRV doesn't get any eye in those cities.
