Can I ask why you are against powder coating rims?

Paint them yourself. Krylon fusion works great.

If powder coating is done at the correct temperature from what I understand it is not a problem. These are rims for the wifes car for winter and she curbed one of them just cheepies but want to change color to flat black anyways. What is the cost of powdercoating in comparison to professionaly painted?

If it's just flat black you're wanting, definitely do it yourself! Not hard to do at all.

Thanks I will do them myself using the Krylon Fusion. I was just being lazy since the wheels have a smooth crome looking paint and I will definately give them a light sand first. Easier to do it right the first time than trying to get all the paint off if it did peel.
