Yeah most people recommend Gothams as the top steak house however my 2 experiences was not that favorable.. always looking to try a new restaurant though. I'll try The Shore Club next time I'm up there. The only other one I have not tried is West.. maybe I'll put that on the list too.

^^^Yeah, try the Bone-In Rib Steak. I usually order medium-rare, but my server suggested I get it medium to allow the fat to burn up more and it was very good!

for steaks I prefer Mortons. Same price range too, but their quality seems to have slipped over the years. Maybe it's just me, not sure.
I hear really good things about Hys, but have never been there.

- sandbar on granville island - hit and miss but when hit SO good and ask for 'up and out'
- sushi - on denman just east of thurlow there is a killer little place
- viet - bao chao on hastings/renfrew ish or deer lake in richmond
- salt - in blood alley gastown, trust me, go
- korean BBQ - on kingsway and oh fack i cant recall but just before or after the safeway???? best BBQ ever.
- gastropod - west 4th - expensive side but very interesting food
- dim sum - i always like the place on victoria and about 25thish?
- sea food - go to the lighthouse on the northshore or the fish place just as you come off burrard bridge into downtown on the right

- water street cafe - gastown - see description of above
- Cardero's - coal harbour - more typical menu but amazing location and good prices
