The weight savings you get from taking out the plastic panels is miniscule to none actually, unless you are willing to take out the OEM rear bulkhead and run a harness instead of OEM 3 pt belts on the street.

BLK is right. If you are willing to pull out the bulkhead, I would suggest a custom cage with hard top. I actually have my harddog installed with all but 1 small interior panel still in the car. The plastic for the stock roll hoops is trimmed however.

The OEM rollhoop is bolted partially onto the bulkhead. Without the bulkhead, the OEM hoops wont work.
Yes, it is possible to remove rear plastic panels and the OEM rollhoop, but keep the bulkhead and you will be able to use the 3 pt belts.
But, weight savings is minimal still. OEM rollhoops arent that heavy
