Replacements for the elastic roof straps?
I am one of the many who have older tops with worn-out elastic straps that are supposed to pull the frame back when opening the roof.
I'm aware of a couple of clip-on kits that can be purchased as replacements, but was wondering if there might be a better solution. It's relatively easy to buy elastic fabric and pop-rivet in replacements, but those will lose their stretch too. The heat from sunlight on a closed top causes the elastic to weaken relatively quickly.
It would be nice if some sort of heat-resistant silicone elastic material could be used instead. I'm curious to know if anyone has tried other solutions.
