Sorry, I don't mean to disrespect anyone here on the forum.

It is just that, this reminds me of the black s2k that I saw last winter on hwy 91 spun out of control right in front of the 18 wheeler. That black s2k didn't have the proper tires to drive on the winter road, thus putting innocent drivers' life in danger.

Ok, just as I was about to order some winter rubber, I was advised by a few tire shops that it'd be better off for me (handling wise in the winter, at least) to get a set of 4 x 205/55/16 instead of the normal staggered setup (I have an AP1) - rear tires to go with 205/50/16 for better winter handling. What does everyone else do with their winter tire sizes for AP1?

I run 215 front and rear. As long as you do not drive like an ass, 205 front and rear will be fine but the rear tire will have some stretch to them.

i got the cheapest snow tires I could find that were studdable last year. Never got stuck or needed to be pushed out. Try some studded tires? The tire shops said they are not as good as the more expensive studless tires but they were awesome. Drove through snow like nothing.

I use staggered AP1 sizes on my car. This was recommended by Jim from the Tirerack.

I ran my AP2 on Blizzaks (205/50-17 front and 225/45-17 rear). On these tires it was pretty tough to get moving from a standing start on any snowy uphill incline, even starting in second gear. Once moving, the car felt safe and controllable.
