Thanks. I don't think my internet has been working for a few days and suspect it will be a few more days till I get round to really investigating it so I'll be mailing you a letter on Monday. Thanks for your time.

i'm interested...my car is exhibiting idle misfire and stuff....i'm suspecting bent valves/cracked retainers or whatever....

The Honda certified mechanic that inspected mine gave them a clean bill of health, despite the fact that they were very close to failing. His exact words were "I wouldn't worry about it". Luckily - I did worry about it and dodged a bullet by replacing them myself. I posted pictures of them in one of the threads...

A cracked retainer is not going to cause a misfire. That's the problem - it's a "silent killer". The only symptom of the problem is a dropped valve, followed by an engine replacement (or at the very least - the replacement of a lot on internal engine parts)...

A cracked retainer is not going to cause a misfire. That's the problem - it's a "silent killer". The only symptom of the problem is a dropped valve, followed by an engine replacement (or at the very least - the replacement of a lot on internal engine parts)...

If you've got an AP1 - check yer valve retainers!
yea, better safe then sorry, hopefully i have time to open it up and inspect them

I think i have a bad tps sensor...i unplugged it today and it runs like a charm and idle smoothly.

Are we gonna get this group install thing happening?
